Why Choose Airbnb?

The whole experience of the Airbnb stay was next level. To have our own place, a HOME, and for less than just a room at a Hotel or B&B. I was thrilled, I told everyone I knew how great it was, and how they should book with Airbnb on their next trip. Unfortunately, I knew nothing about the referral link at the time.

This is a bummer for both myself and my family and friends! They missed out on an awesome discount for their first stay, and I missed out on a referral credit. Since then, I have learned and promote Airbnb all the time through word of mouth, Facebook and Instagram.

I love traveling and seeing new places, so I started an Instagram based around awesome bucket-list places and incredible Airbnb Homes. I love that I am sharing awesome spaces, getting new people discounts on their travel, and letting everyone experience how great travel can be with Airbnb, while helping funding our dream of traveling the world.

By inviting your own group of people, such as friends and family, on Airbnb, you too could earn thousands of dollars of Airbnb referral money and the people you invite will also get Airbnb travel credits. Once you open your account using my Airbnb referral link, Airbnb will provide your own referral link.  It’s located at the top right of your Airbnb screen in the dropdown menu.

You can send your link to your friends and family via email, text, whatsapp or messenger. You can also share your link through Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest as well. If you have a website or blog you can post your link there with content, or like I said, I also have my link on my Travel Instagram page.

Great Hosting and Amenities Won us Over

Our host had left thoughtful touches like homemade lemon drizzle cake, a nice loaf of bread, a fridge stocked with milk, butter, eggs, yogurt and homemade jam. The cupboards had all the condiments you could ask for, cereal, peanut butter, cans of beans and tomato soup, even pasta and spices. If you were a weary traveler you’d have plenty enough to eat without having to go to the store. We had just arrived after a few hours of traveling and it was a most welcome surprise.

We were also left  large fluffy towels, toiletries and even muscle soak in an awesome antique decanter in the bathroom. I was over the moon the have a bubble bath after weeks of travel, let me tell you! In the lounge they had some fresh flowers and a large window that opened on to the balcony, with a surprise view of the see and promenade. This was definitely a case of them underselling their listing, but for us it was such a happy surprise!

With all that space we were even able to host a small dinner party with the family for my Mother in Law who lived very near-by. It truly felt like a home away from home, and to be honest, we didn’t want to leave!

I never gave out my referral link--A costly mistake!

Free Travel Credits through Word of Mouth

When I first found out about Airbnb a few years back, I was skeptical. The concept was new, and it seemed “weird” to rent space from strangers

A while later we booked a trip to Europe. For the first week we stayed in a traditional Bed and Breakfast. It was nice, but a bit stuffy, and we felt a bit cooped up in our room. The dining room was great, but only offered an early breakfast, and we were there to relax, so we had to decide between sleeping-in and a warm breakfast — I know, first world problems!

The second week we booked with Airbnb. I was amazed with the platform, and the feeling of having an entire apartment (with kitchen and balcony!) for less than we paid for the B&B room alone.

We walked in and we were absolutely in love. We had a bright and cheerful light-filled flat with a balcony view of the sea. You walked in to a lovely desk that had a parking pass, map of the city and brochures of local attractions, plus pens, paper and electrical adapter (this is SO handy!!)

My husband and I have used our referral credits to travel the world via Airbnb! We are currently saving up our Airbnb referral dollars to rent a place big enough for the whole family to be together for a summer holiday. This is the first time that we will all be in the same place for the holidays and we’re so excited to be able to provide a perfect place for our holiday get together. The best part is, that it costs us nothing!

In the past 3 months or so we have generated nearly $300 with another $1033 pending. Not bad for posting beautiful bucket list travel pics!

Time for YOU to start earning free travel!

When your referral uses your link, they will receive credit that will automatically apply towards their first reservation with Airbnb. Meaning, the credit will show up automatically on the checkout page of any qualifying reservation.

When your friend completes their first qualifying reservation, you’ll earn travel credit to use for your own Airbnb reservations.

You will receive your travel credit after the departure date of your friend’s trip.

The thing I love most about Airbnb’s referral program is that for each person you refer, there are actually two opportunities for you to earn travel credit: you earn credits when your friend completes a qualifying reservation as a Guest and also when they complete a qualifying reservation as a Host.

To qualify, a reservation usually needs to have a total value of $75 USD or more, excluding guest fees and any taxes. These amounts may vary during promotional periods. Your available travel credits automatically appear as a coupon on the checkout page of your reservation request. If the travel credits aren’t automatically added, it means the reservation doesn’t qualify.

Be advised that travel credits can’t apply to a trip that has already been paid for, but they will be available and applied to your next qualifying reservation. So get booking that next trip!  They expire one year from the date they’re issued and can only be used once. They’re also not reusable if you cancel a reservation where the credits were applied.

Have fun travelling!

Last but Not Least - Rent with Airbnb

Do you spend most nights or every weekend at your partner’s?  Did you know you could be renting that room out on weekends and earning enough to cover your rent?

If you have a spare room collecting dust, or basement area you aren’t using, ou could be earning income by renting your space (big or small!) with Airbnb. I have a friend who was joking around about how high rent prices are in Seattle, she said could put a tent in her yard and charge for it. As a laugh she listed it, and guess what? That “glamping” spot was going for $45 a night! She was able to bring in some much needed money without having to go out and work for it.

Many young people these days are using short-term rentals to get on the property ladder ans essentially have their renters pay down their mortgage. There are many ways that you can earn with Airbnb, if you’re considering hosting, please check out the articles below.
